Position: Branch Manager - Fayetteville

Location: Hillsboro, OH

Nature and Scope: Solicitation of business to new/existing customers on a retail level, solicit and market loan and deposit products for local Ohio market to obtain branch goals and increase profitability. Cross sell products to fit the customer needs and expand the customer relationship. Monitoring and maintaining the profitability of the branch thru deposit tracking, monthly transaction and bench marking information, loan production reports and other bank generated materials. Ensure customer service and customer intimacy is held at the highest standard levels. Oversight and management of the daily activity of the branch including scheduling, customer contact/calling efforts, opening new accounts, marketing, phone calls, teller issues that may arise and handling customer issues or concerns. Ensure teller line operations, training and compliance with banking regulations are consistent and adhered to be teller line staff.  Conduct performance reviews, coaching and mentoring staff members. Review processes for efficiencies, control branch expenses, and increase fee income.  Maintain communication between internal departments and upper management to align the goals of the branch with that of NCB.  Represent NCB in a positive light at all times both inside and outside the bank by customer/community involvement and customer contact.  Refer and answer general questions regarding sales of real-estate and commercial lending for NCB.  Process consumer loan applications.  Check signing and wire authority. Assist/feedback with DNA system updates/forms. Ensure monthly audits are completed/correct/timely.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Cross sell of all bank products and lines of business to new and existing customers to increase bank profitability and growth.  Ensure processes are efficient and staff is cross trained. Ensure staff is performing at satisfactory levels to promote customer satisfaction and intimacy.
    • Generate new deposit and loan business. Explain products and services offered by NCB to new/existing/potential customers
    • Open new accounts offered by NCB including IRA accounts and ensure verification is timely for audit purposes
    •  
    • Monitor and maintain the growth of the branch. Work closely with management on initiatives, deposit growth opportunities, mentoring staff, and any issues that need addressed
    • Control Expenses, review processes for efficiencies, increase fee income
    • Maintain adequate staffing levels and utilizing schedule efficiently and for branch profitability
    • Ensure monthly audits are completed for teller cash drawers and vault.
    • Responsible for safety and security of branch including opening/closing and disaster recovery training/testing
    •  
    • Day to day management of teller staff including scheduling, customer contact, opening new accounts, marketing, phone calls and teller issues
    • Provide superior customer service.  Ensure customers are greeted properly by all staff/customer engagement
    • Assist CSR’s with difficult customers/transactions/questions/concerns
    • Mentor staff on cross selling opportunities
    • Promote team spirit in employees
    • Oversee staff and their performance as it relates to customer service to maintain satisfactory levels
    • Training employees as required on new processes/procedures
    • Attend off site training events such as teller off site, OBL, IRA training, etc
    • Ensure all staff are performing duties as per JCQ
    • Assist employees with Max Plans and perform employee reviews semi-annually and annually and personal development
    • Monthly bench marking reports and audit checklists
    • Check signing and wire authority
    • Accept loan applications including documentation needed for processing/closing
    • Refer and answer general questions and market loan products in the local Ohio market area
    • Understanding of loan products and rate sheets
    • Provide feedback on DNA upgrades and any issues/question on the system
    • Represent NCB in a professional/polished/positive manner to customers and at community events
    • Ensure all end of day processing is complete and accurate, charge off documentation is complete
    • Ensure CD Maturity list and new account calls are complete
    • Ensure all projects/assignments are complete and other duties as assigned
    • Ensure office is clean and presentable and all brochures/supplies are up to date
     
  • Teller Functions (all inclusive) as needed per schedule;
    • Receive checks and cash for deposit or payments, verify amount and examine checks for proper endorsement
    • Cash checks and process withdrawals or transfers, verify signatures and account balances
    • Maintain cash supply within prescribed limits, prepare cash transfer slips, balance currency, coin and checks at the end of the day
    • Perform file maintenance, process account holds, filing and other duties as necessary
    • Assist in bank-by-mail or night depository transactions
    • Handle drive-up transactions rotating with other tellers
    • Assist in logging and processing night deposit transactions.
     
  • Policy, Procedures, Regulatory Compliance, Training:
    • Review and follow NCB policies and procedures
    • Be knowledgeable and up to date on all regulatory compliance issues as it relates to teller duties
    • Complete training as assigned by Regional Branch Manager or Compliance Officer
    • Assist employees with Max Plan preparation
    • Ensure all employees have completed compliance classes and are cross trained
    • Review and follow NCB policies and procedures
    • Be knowledgeable and up to date on all regulatory compliance issues as it relates to teller duties
     

 Minimum Qualifications: 

  • 2-3 years retail banking experience required
  • Prior management or equivalent experience required
  • Cash handling experience required
  • Knowledge of IRA’s including rollover, contributions, distributions preferred
  • Experience in banking environment preferred
  • Sales experience preferred
  • Lending experience preferred
  • Ability to multi task/flexibility in schedule/multiple projects
  • Knowledge of banking with emphasis on deposit policies,procedures, deposit compliance as well as ability to answer general lending questions regarding NCB products
  • Customer Focus : People skills for customers, employees and co-workers; provide quality, professional and courteous attitude
  • Mathematical aptitude and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills – written and oral
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions/programs
  • Mentor staff with personal development and cross selling opportunities
