“I am honored to present Andy with the Spirit of Cooperation Award,” said Casey Fannon, President and CEO of NCB. “Each year, we recognize someone whose commitment to cooperation reflects the legacy of Stan Dreyer, who championed the creation of the National Cooperative Bank.”
Mr. Reicher has served two terms as an NCB Director and recently completed a six‑year term on the Board. His career includes numerous recognitions, most notably his induction into the Cooperative Hall of Fame. Mr. Fannon noted that Andy’s recent contributions to NCB have been especially impactful, highlighting his leadership in advancing new co-op development, advocating for expanded federal support for cooperative housing, and pursuing cost‑saving solutions for member cooperatives facing rising insurance costs. He also strengthened NCB’s mission lending by connecting the bank with co-op developers and CDFIs nationwide, helping expand opportunities for cooperative growth across the country.
“Thank you, Andy, for everything you have done for NCB and the broader cooperative community,” Fannon added. “This award is well deserved.”
The Stan Dreyer Spirit of Cooperation Award honors the legacy of Stan Dreyer, who was instrumental in the passage of the National Consumer Cooperative Bank Act of 1978, which established NCB. Dreyer served as Executive Director of the National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA) and was a leading advocate for cooperatives in the United States and abroad. His lifelong dedication to cooperative enterprise continues to guide the award’s purpose and selection.
