Arlington, VA (December 02, 2021) — National Cooperative Bank (NCB), a leading financial institution dedicated to providing banking solutions to cooperatives and socially responsible organizations nationwide, recently provided a $565,000 SBA 7(a) loan to open an Ace Hardware store in Capitol Heights, Maryland. Located in a busy and thriving section of the county, the store aims to serve the needs of the local community with a wide product range, excellent service and convenience.

Wheeler's Ace will be the first Ace store in Prince George County and the only Ace Hardware store within a 10-mile radius of the area. The store will be owned and operated by Roderick (Rod) Wheeler, whose previous experience includes owning and managing a chain of athletic shoe stores located in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.

At 13,924 square feet, the 100% minority-owned and operated store opened in the Spring of 2021 under Ace's Core store format and provides an urban product mix. Wheeler's Ace will also have the opportunity to serve Business to Business (B2B) & Business to Government (B2G) clients.

As a longtime resident of Prince George's County for over 30 years, Rod Wheeler is invested in community partnership and plans to develop an exclusive partnership between Wheeler's Ace and Prince George’s Community College to offer skilled trades training and certifications at its Westphalia Training Center.

NCB has a long and positive history of lending to Ace Corporate and its retailers and is proud to forge a new relationship with Wheeler's Ace to provide high-quality goods and a customizable inventory to support the local community.
