NCB Named as One of the 2021 Best Employers in Ohio

Hillsboro, OH – (July 21, 2021) – National Cooperative Bank (NCB), a leading financial institution which provides banking products and services to Southern Ohio and the nation's cooperatives, their members and other socially responsible organizations, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded as number three on the large companies list for the 2021 Best Employers in Ohio. The annual list of the Best Employers in Ohio was created by Crain's Cleveland Business and Best Companies Group.

“The main goal of Best Employers in Ohio is to create an environment where employees love to come to work,” says Peter Burke, president and co-founder of Best Companies Group. This statewide survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Ohio, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. The 2021 Best Employers in Ohio list is made up of 42 companies.

“We are very proud to be presented with this statewide award since 2015,” states Michelle Ward, Senior Vice President, Human Resources Manager. “This award is based on autonomy of individual employee surveys and NCB's strong culture.”

Overall, 94% of employees at companies on this list say they are “very satisfied” with their employer, according to the survey. The survey also revealed that 87% of employees look forward to going to work, while 88% believe their job provides a sense of meaning and purpose. In addition, 93% are proud to work for the organization and 91% would recommend their employer to a friend.

NCB currently employs 130 people in Hillsboro, Ohio. Jobs range from entry level positions to senior management positions. NCB provides a robust benefits package and many employees are promoted within the organization.

To be considered for Best Employers in Ohio, companies had to participate in a two-part survey process. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Ohio and analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.
