Thomas H. Klump Named Chief Operating Officer for National Cooperative Bank

Tom-Klump-cropped-2Arlington, VA (March 01, 2023) — National Cooperative Bank (NCB), a leading financial institution serving cooperatives, their members, and socially responsible organizations nationwide, is pleased to announce that Thomas H. Klump has been named its new Chief Operating Officer after the retirement of Kathleen Luzik who had been with NCB for 31 years.

Prior to being named Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Klump was the Chief Information Officer for NCB managing, directing, and executing all technology strategy and operations, software development, project management, data governance, process improvement, and vendor and third-party risk management across the organization. 

As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Klump will oversee NCB’s deposit and loan operations, strategic execution and analytics, loan servicing, process improvement, and corporate services.

Prior to joining NCB in 2018, Mr. Klump was the Chief Information Officer for The Washington Trust Company, located in Westerly, Rhode Island. In his role, Mr. Klump was responsible for technology, loan, payment, and deposit operations, and project management functions across the bank. Prior to joining The Washington Trust Company, Mr. Klump held multiple technology roles as a Senior Vice President at Citizens Bank in Providence, Rhode Island. 

Mr. Klump holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a master’s degree from the George Mason University School of Public Policy. 

Mr. Klump served in the United States Army from 2001-2006 and served as a member of the United States Army National Guard from 2007-2015.
